Expert Confirms Why There Seems To Be A Huge ‘Increase’ In Plane Crashes

Recent plane crashes, including a Delta flight flipping on landing in Toronto and a midair collision in DC, have sparked public concern. However, aviation expert Jason Matzus explains that this is due to “random clustering” rather than a systemic safety issue. Media coverage amplifies the perception of increased crashes, but air travel remains the safest mode of transportation.

The Delta flight from Minneapolis crashed on February 17 at Toronto Pearson Airport, where emergency teams responded. All 76 passengers and four crew members survived, though 21 were hospitalized. Delta has since offered each passenger $30,000 with “no strings attached.”

Audio recordings reveal the tower warning of high winds before landing. Viral footage, including passenger Ashley Zook’s video from inside the flipped aircraft, has circulated widely online.
