Elon Musk’s Father Encouraged Him to Reconcile With Trump
Errol Musk, father of tech billionaire Elon Musk, has urged his son to smooth things over with President Donald Trump following a recent public clash. Speaking to Al Arabiya English, Errol revealed he had sent Elon a message advising him to let the dispute “fizzle out,” expressing confidence that the two high-profile figures would eventually reconcile. He likened the spat to “elephant bulls or alphas having a go at each other.”
Errol criticized his son’s dramatic accusation that Trump was named in FBI files related to Jeffrey Epstein, calling it a likely “silly mistake” made under stress. Elon had posted the claim on X (formerly Twitter) but later deleted it. In the since-removed post, he had written: “Time to drop the really big bomb: @realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files… Have a nice day, DJT!”
The claim was swiftly refuted by Epstein’s former lawyer, David Schoen, who said Epstein told him he had nothing damaging on Trump. Trump’s former lawyer Michael Cohen also rejected the claim, calling it “nonsense.”
Despite the controversy, Errol Musk remained optimistic, downplaying the dispute as the result of high-pressure situations and saying it would likely blow over in days. He described the feud as “a bit silly” and reflective of the challenges even powerful individuals face when under stress.
Though Elon Musk and Trump have had a close relationship in the past, recent tensions have escalated. Nonetheless, Politico reported that aides from both camps have been in communication to ease the rift. According to White House officials, Trump has refrained from posting about Musk on Truth Social following behind-the-scenes talks — though the status of their relationship remains uncertain.
