At Least 60 Dead in Nightclub Fire During Concert with Over 1,500 Attendees

A heartbreaking tragedy unfolded in Kočani, North Macedonia, when a fire erupted at a nightclub during a concert by the popular hip-hop duo DNK. At least 60 people have been confirmed dead, with more than 155 others injured, many suffering from severe burns. The fire broke out as a result of pyrotechnics used for lighting effects, which ignited the highly flammable ceiling materials, causing the flames to spread rapidly. Among the victims was Andrej Gorgieski, the singer of DNK, who had heroically re-entered the club to help others escape the flames. Tragically, he did not make it out in time. The fire claimed the lives of many, including several minors, and many more are in critical condition. The incident has shocked the nation and has drawn support from neighboring countries like Greece, Bulgaria, and Serbia, who have offered assistance in the aftermath of the disaster.
